We have the unique opportunity to show these children that their sacrifice is not unnoticed. Our mission is to provide new backpacks filled with school supplies to school aged children who have a mother or father serving in the United States military. This will help set a standard for excellence within each child by allowing them to start the school year with the necessary supplies for success and foster a stronger sense of hope for their future.
I am proud to announce over the past three years Pack for the Future has donated almost 10,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to military children in California. These backpacks have been delivered to children at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, a National Guard unit in Fresno, Camp Pendleton in San Diego and Ft. Irwin in Bartsow.
As we look towards our future we hope to continue our support for these children and their families. Within the next few weeks our Board of Directors will meet to determine where our next stop is. Of course, none of this is possible without the generous support of our donors. If you are interested in making a donation, each backpack filled with supplies will cost only $10.00. We would greatly appreciate your tax deductible contribution, of any denomination, with a check made payable to Pack for the Future. Your donation will be used to purchase backpacks and school supplies at wholesale prices.
This is a grassroots effort conceived in the hearts of people who are grateful everyday for the servicemen and women who wake up each morning and make the choice to defend our great nation and their families who support their efforts. Let us show them our gratitude!
Recently I received a letter from a soldiers wife, she wrote; "My kids were so excited about their new backpacks. Thank you so much for making their day! Daddy's in Iraq right now and you helped take their minds off that even if it was for a little bit. It's a wonderful thing that you do."
